Wednesday, July 14, 2010

Filled in the path from the garage to the pool gate with cypress mulch. Created a paver patio on the inside of the pool fence by the conservatory gate.

Monday, July 12, 2010

Had to heavily prune and stabilize the Cassia tree which was uprooted again in the big rain and wind. We will have to move it so that it can be staked and perhaps the roots will spread enough to prevent the uprooting.

Hardscaping - path edge

Put in the stones we dug up yesterday and then completed the edge with bricks until we can get more stones. Also dug out the trench by the octagonal perennial bed which had filled with silt after yesterdays big rain.

The Variegated Gardenia was suffering probably from too much water so I have potted him up.

Sunday, July 11, 2010

Had to put the Crimson Queen Barberry in a pot in the conservatory - it was losing all its leaves. Also put the Carolina Silverbell in a pot in the conservatory because it was failing fast after the deer ate all the top leaves.

Planting and transplanting

Removed the Euonymus alatus and the Euonymus japonicus and planted them inside the pool fence because the deer have been nibbling at them. Removed one Indian Hawthorn and potted it up to make space for the E. japonicus.
